Soleco Stingrays- if you have a lane, you have a chance

Thanks to all of our swimmers and families for a terrific 2011 swim season!  The Stingrays finished the summer with 6 wins and only 1 loss!  The team went on to finish 3rd overall at Championships, with many personal bests being set that day!  Way to go Stingrays!

Thank you to our amazing coaches: Matt Goldsmith, Meg McGinty, Courtney Humes, Kyle Gertz, Riley Geis, and Emily Carr!  Your dedication and devotion to our swimmers is evident in all you do for them and we appreciate you passing on your skills and talents and for being great role models for our children.

This year’s Summer Splash event was a huge hit!  We welcomed over 200 swimmers from 11 swim teams to our beautiful new pool!  Everyone had a great day full of tough competition and fun!  Thanks to the Groeber’s, Krissy and Paul, for organizing this terrific event and helping the team earn over $7,000!

2012 Season team registration for returning swimmers will be held on Monday, March 19 at the Southern Lehigh Middle School, from 6:30 – 8:30 PM.   New swimmers are welcome to register on Monday, April 2 at the Southern Lehigh Library, from 7 – 9 PM.  See the attached document for registration details and requirements.

- For HOME meets, swimmers must to be at the SOLECO pool for warm-ups at 4:45 PM; for AWAY meets, swimmers must arrive no later than 5 PM.  Meets start promptly at 6 PM.  All volunteers MUST check in the evening of the meet with the volunteer coordinator, Jen Johnson.
– Swimmers need to attend a minimum of 3 practices a week to be eligible to swim in a meet (logged and approved absences by the coach are excused).  Attendance is mandatory on meet days.
– Swimmers may swim a maximum of four events in any one meet.
– Swimmers need to swim a minimum of four regular season meets in order to be eligible to swim in Championships.
– Swimmers must attend practice the 5 days prior to Championships to be eligible to swim.
- Final Championship eligibility will be at the discretion of the Coaching Staff.
- Parents must sign up for and fulfill volunteer and food requirements. Ssign-ups will be held during swim team registration.
- Pool membership, team membership, waiver form, escrow check and food donation fees and volunteer sign-ups must be paid/current for a spot to be held for each swimmer.  Failure to have all fees/donations made will result in your swimmer losing his/her spot on the team.

- All New Swimmers and Returning Pre-Team Swimmers must come to Evaluation Day; date to be determined.
– Swimmers must be registered in order to attend evaluations.
- In order to receive all team updates and emails, please register as a member of our site.  If your email has changed since last season, please re-register and email us a notification of the change… we will be sure to delete the old address from our files.

FEES:
- All fees, including pool membership dues, must be paid prior to completed Swim Team Registration.
- 2012 Fees will be published shortly; please check the website regularly for updates.
- All swimmers must also be fully paid members of the SOLECO Pool

- Swimmers must be six years of age by May 31 st and may swim till the summer after their senior year in high school.
- Coaches will evaluate new swimmers and returning pre-swim team swimmers at at the Rodale Aquatics Center located Cedar Crest College (Date and Time TBD).
- All swimmers must be able to swim 25 meters (one length of the pool) of at least freestyle and backstroke. If a swimmer cannot swim 25 meters, they may be eligible for pre-swim team. Eligibility will be determined by the coaches.

Please Note: The pre-swim team is NOT intended to be swimming lessons and inclusion will be at the coach’s discretion.
